Hima Das appointed India's youth ambassador

 India’s ace sprinter and Asian Games gold-medallist sprinter Hima Das was appointed as first youth ambassador of United Nations Children’s Fund. 


The world organisation tweeted on Wednesday evening coinciding with the Children's Day celebrated on November 14 commemorating the country's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru's birthday and announced the name of the woman athlete from Assam, Hima Das.

This was announced on the official Twitter handle of UNICEF India.

Medals won in 2018 Asian games

1. Gold medal: Women's 4×400 meters relay along with M. R. Poorvamma , Sarita Gayakwad and V.K. vismaya.

2. Silver medal: Mixed 4×400 meters relay along with Mohammad Anas , M.R. Poorvamma and Arokia Rajiv.

3. Silver medal: Women's 400 meters individual race she had set national record by clocking 51.00 to qualify for the 400 meter final.
